We often tell ourselves to praise God once we've made it through — once the storm is behind us and the shore is visible. But the Psalms refuse to wait. "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble… though its waters roar and foam," declares the writer of Psalm 46 — a song of confidence rising not from dry land, but from the middle of the flood. In this scene from Radical Trust, the women of the ark do not hold their songs in reserve for calmer days. Led by Lemara, they sing in the darkness, in the rain, in the rising water. "Who Is Like God?" is their act of faith before the deliverance comes — a reminder that praise is not the reward for surviving. It is the posture of trusting in a radical God.
