Morning Comes
Sung by Noah · Inspired by Psalm 92 and the story of the flood
Psalm 92 carries a simple title: A Song for the Sabbath Day. "It is good to give thanks to the LORD," it opens, "to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning and Your faithfulness by night." What better morning than the one when the ark door swung open and a new earth appeared? "For You, LORD, have made me glad by what You have done" — the cry of a man stepping out of darkness into a world reborn. Morning Comes imagines that scene from Radical Trust: Noah and his son Shem stepping into the first light of a new creation, giving voice at last to a song that had been forming all through the flood.
A note on the source: Jewish tradition attributes Psalm 92 to Adam, sung on his first Sabbath after Eden. I’ve reimagined it here as Noah’s song instead — another man given an undeserved new morning.

Verse 1
To give our thanks unto the LORD
And sing to His great name
To tell His love when morning breaks
His faithfulness to claim
Verse 2
For You have made my heart so glad
With all that You have done
How great and deep Your works, O LORD
Beneath the morning sun
Refrain
How good it is to praise Your name
To lift our voices high
To sing of love when morning comes
And faith that will not die
Verse 3
The wicked rise like morning grass
So green but doomed to fade
But You, O LORD, are high and strong
Forever undismayed
Verse 4
The hand that closed the great ark’s door
Will open it again
He shut us in to keep us safe
Through water, dark, and rain
Refrain
How good it is to praise Your name
To lift our voices high
To sing of love when morning comes
And faith that will not die
Verse 5
The righteous flourish like the vine
Still bearing fruit in age
Like cedar trees they grow and stand
Still standing age to age
Verse 6
He is my rock, no wrong in Him
His ways are just and true
The God who kept us through the flood
Will carry me and you
Final Refrain (sung twice)
How good it is to praise Your name
To lift our voices high
To sing of love when morning comes
And faith that will not die
